Barcelona City Council has approved the improvement project of the bridge on Santander Street in Barcelona, designed by DOPEC. The works will begin in September and are scheduled to be finished at the beginning of 2024.

Santander Street will be widened with sidewalks up to 4.5m wide and a bike lane in each direction. The intervention foresees the construction of an adjacent walkway on both sides of the existing bridge and the integral improvement of urban space.

The Department of Territories and Sustainability has definitively approved the construction project for burying the Gran Via avenue between Rambla Marina and Llobregat River, a project carried out by DOPEC in a joint venture with two other engineering companies. This action will make the connections between both sides of the Gran Via compatible including Bellvitge and Duran i Reynals hospitals, giving continuity to the burial already carried out up to Plaza Europa.

El dia 24 d’abril comencen les obres de reforma de la Plaça Sant Miquel, al barri del Gòtic Sud. Dopec en realitzarà la Direcció d’Obra, on s’hi destinaran 2 milions d’euros per donar una nova imatge i usos per afavorir les dinàmiques veïnals davant el trànsit rodat. Es preveu que la transformació dels seus 4.317m² es realitzarà en nou mesos i posarà les famílies i els infants al centre de la plaça amb un disseny que duplica l’actual zona de jocs i vegetació.

With an investment of 6.9 million euros, La Sagrera activates the expected action of urban transformation around the station, affecting 20,026.39 square meters of streets and green areas in the corridor that leads to the district of Sant Andreu. Dopec has made its constructive urbanization project, which will mainly affect the streets of Gran de la Sagrera, Garcilaso and Berenguer de Palou, completing traffic and roadways that are very necessary for the neighborhood.

The City Council of Barcelona has definitively approved the Renovation Project of Avinguda Diagonal in the section that goes from Plaça Francesc Macià to Passeig de Gràcia, designed by DOPEC and IDOM engineers. DOPEC has obtained the ICAEN’s award (Catalan Institute of Energy) as the recognition of the first companies to obtain the certification of its Energy Management System according to ISO 50001. The objective of this certification is to reduce the indirect emissions caused by energetic consumptions and their associated costs. The last 9th of June was inaugurated the expansion of Blanes fishing port. The works have consisted on the construction of a new outer sea wall and the extension of the counter-dike and have served to improve the functionality and the conditions of shelter in the port so that the fishing and of local tourist boats sectors develop better their activity. DOPEC has carried out the technical assistance of the works management that cost € 26, 3 M, for a period of 27 months.

In April was delivered the Park Padre Renato Poblete’s design in Santiago of Chile. The design consists of the Mapocho River’s shore planning to accommodate a fluvial park of 22 has. This park will be composed of a sport zone, a stroll and a navigable lake for small boats. The intervention includes the installation of 4 inflatable dams and the regularization and recovery of the river bed. The works will cost € 33,3 M and its completion is planned during the year 2013.

Last March Dopec delivered the project of the CERN’s new building, BAT 774, in Prévessin (France). The building, designed by the prestigious architects Octavio Mestre and Francesco Soppelsa, consists of 3,800 m2 distributed over 4 floors. The new building will house computer laboratories and offices and will have a public zone with an auditorium, a cafeteria and an outdoor parking. DOPEC, in close collaboration with the architects, has designed all the building facilities, following the RT-2012 regulation, recently implanted in France.

Since last December, Yamaha’s commercial and administrative staff is working in its new offices located in Mas Blau Polygon, el Prat de Llobregat. DOPEC has supported Yamaha throughout the process: identification of the building for the implementation of the new offices, definition of the functional scheme and needs, furniture purchasing and implementation management. The setup works have cost € 600,000 and have been executed in a few weeks. This assignment represents a step further in consolidating DOPEC as a turnkey service provider.

DOPEC received recently certification of its Energy Management System according to UNE-EN 16001 (currently ISO 50001), the aim of which is to reduce indirect emissions caused by energy consumption and its associated costs. As a result of this implementation, DOPEC becomes one of the first engineering firms with an Energy Management System, which will be added to the Integrated Quality and Environmental Management System certified by EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 which are already established. The works to develop Vall Street in Tortosa (Tarragona) ended last March. The design, made by DOPEC and architect Xavier Rollán, consisted of developing the whole street, 275 m long, and included the renovation of all urban facilities networks.

The buildings of the Central Services and the Territorial Services of de Department of Labour of the Catalan government have won the second prize from Endesa for the Most Sustainable Real Estate Development, in the category of building restoration, among 59 other projects. DOPEC developped the Investment Plan of the Department of Labour, as well as the integrated management of the building works, which included the restoration of these buildings.

The opening of public areas of ACC1Ó main headquarters, located on Paseo de Gracia, Barcelona, completes the project design and construction works of all branches that the organization has in Catalonia. The works started at the headquarters in Tarragona, Tortosa and Manresa; Girona and Lleida were next and ended up at the headquarters in Barcelona. This assignment is one step forward in DOPEC consolidation as a service turnkey provider.

The jury of the Rosa Barba European Landscape Prize has selected the footbridge that connects “La Vinyota” sector and “La Casilla” quarter in the town of Mollet del Vallès (over the C-17 highway), to be presented at the 6th European Landscape Biennial exposition. The exposition will be held at the COAC Barcelona office (Architects Association of Catalonia), from September 29th till October 26th. The town planning project draft and the project management have been undertaken by Dopec.

The urbanization works of the sector of Can Colomer in Terrassa have begun. The project was written by DOPEC, who is also responsible for the construction supervision.
